Pregnancy is Beautiful????? Really?????

June 22, 2014

So far I have failed to see how being pregnant is wonderful and beautiful.  I mean, yes I’m growing a tiny human being inside of me and that is amazing, but the process has been fairly unpleasant and that is being very nice.  I’m starting to think that all these women who’ve told me that they loved being pregnant or that their pregnancy was so wonderful are lying or crazy.  I mean seriously it's been a rough road so far!! I gag whenever I brush my teeth, picking an outfit out in the morning is a daily battle, and my feet are killing me all the time.  Even when I’m sitting or trying to sleep my feet are killing me.  It’s like I’m wearing socks that are too tight.  Plus I’m still getting morning sickness at least a few times a week.  It just comes out of nowhere; I throw-up, and then go on with my day.  The morning sick at this point may be the least of my inconveniences.  The rash on my stomach and hands is up there at number one with my achy feet as a close second.  Also, sleeping through the night is a distant memory that I’m pretty sure I’m not going to experience again for 18 years.  I am typically a stomach sleeper, so finding a new comfortable position is not really working for me.  And I’m not even that big yet!! But when I do lie on my stomach it’s like I’m lying on a billiard ball.  Needless to say, I have a difficult time falling asleep and staying asleep.  However, on a positive note, I have started to really feel the baby move.  It seems to get stronger and stronger each day.  She definitely has a little pattern to her day.  Typically, I can feel her moving when I’m lying down in the morning, evening, or bedtime.  Although, the last couple of days I have felt her move a little throughout the day as well. By the way, we did find out we are having a little girl.  She had no issues letting us know she was a girl at the ultrasound.  Not shy at all I guess.  LOL  Well, here’s to hoping things do improve during this adventure of creating life.
